Born in Bridgeton, NJ and raised in Atlanta, GA, Ms. Marcus began her relationship with the arts through dance. As a young child, she attended and participated in afterschool programs and local dance schools. Her passion for the arts flourished once she reached high school, attending Tri-Cities Visual & Performing Arts High School in East-Point, GA. While in high school, Ms. Marcus was exposed to the various facets of dance, theatre and visual arts. These opportunities cultivated her interest in pursuing the arts as a career: combining her passion for dance and love of photography.

Ms. Marcus obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Visual Arts-Photography from Howard University. Thereafter, she received her Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design (Atlanta, GA), and has since worked extensively both nationally and internationally. She recently completed a study-abroad program in Lacoste, France, as well as, curating her first gallery exhibit. Ms. Marcus’ work has been showcased at: China Jinan International Photography Biennial, Dance Teacher Magazine, Exposisition des étudiants in France, Gallery 72, Gutstein Gallery, Hammonds House, Museum of Contemporary Art (Atlanta, GA), Lucinda Bunnen Selects at Atlanta Photo Group (APG), Peachtree Gallery, and Savannah College of Art & Design. Nominated in 2012 for the RAW Photographer of the Year, Ms. Marcus premiered her first dance photography book Thirteen Moments in April 2013.

The Atlanta Photographers Guild is the most active group of professional and hobbyist photographers in the Atlanta area. Meetings are held on a weekly basis and feature aspiring and professional models as subjects. The Atlanta Photographers Guild is a co-operative. We meet to share technique, equipment, and a good time. We believe that photography is exciting and that excitement should be shared.
