Ocoee Whitewater Experience

Ocoee Whitewater 1.jpeg

In this workshop, you will need your camera gear including a medium telephoto lens (200mm will be plenty,) polarizing filter and tripod or monopod.  In addition, you would need to carry water, snacks and pack well enough to be able to carry your gear for a minimum amount of hiking.

This workshop begins and ends at the Ocoee Whitewater Center.  Directions are available at time of registration.

This is one of the best workshops of the year, great photo opportunities guaranteed!

*No worries - photographers will be on dry land - photographing the kayakers - not in the kayaks themselves!

Capture the fun and exciting sport of river kayaking on the famed Ocoee River near Copperhill, Tenn. at the Ocoee Whitewater Center - site of the 1996 Olympic Kayaking competition - it was built to be photographed!.  Learn how to be “camera-ready” as you watch the river enthusiasts meet the challenges of the whitewater.  In addition to the great white-water sports action the Ocoee is one of the southeasts most beautiful mountain rivers, so plenty of nature shots too!

This workshop is led by Larry Winslett, experienced sports and nature photographer, who will guide you in framing for the best possible shots.
