Project Chimps
While we’ll get up close and personal with the chimps safely through multiple windows along the enclosure, we’ll also photograph the chimps from a perch standpoint, allowing us to photograph without fence or windows in our way!
We’ll cover techniques such as:
Photographing moving objects
Proper exposure for dark fur
Fast shutter speeds to capture movement
The “decisive moment”
Focus points
Framing
Note that this is a walking workshop with some steep hills and stairs.

Did you know there’s one of the nation’s largest Chimpanzee sanctuaries in North Georgia? Come along for this unique photography adventure!
Project Chimps is the newest chimpanzee sanctuary in the United States and was founded to provide lifelong exemplary care to 200 former research chimpanzees at its sanctuary on 230+ acres of forested land in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia. Today, Project Chimps is home to 95 chimpanzees and we are working to move nearly 100 more to permanent sanctuary.
